Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ScholarLib ("ScholarLib," "we," "us"), including the Curriculum Guides, Drafting Room, Analyzer, Checklists, and Questions features (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

ScholarLib provides tools to help International Baccalaureate (IB) students prepare coursework:

  • Curriculum Guides — reference guides covering IA, EE, TOK, and Individual Oral requirements.
  • Drafting Room — generates an AI-written exemplar response for a subject and research question you provide.
  • Analyzer — accepts a draft you submit and returns an AI-generated score, criterion breakdown, and commentary.
  • Checklists — lets you track writing steps against real assessment criteria as you work.
  • Questions — a topic- and difficulty-sorted bank of practice questions across supported IB subjects.

ScholarLib is an independent educational tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the International Baccalaureate Organization.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You need an account to use most of the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. If you are under 18, you should have a parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service and to make any purchases described in Section 4.

3. AI-Generated Content and Academic Integrity

Content produced by the Drafting Room and Analyzer is generated by AI models and is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not an official IB assessment, and a score or mark shown in the Service is an estimate, not a guarantee of any result you will receive from the IB or your school.

Drafting Room output is a model exemplar meant to illustrate what a strong response looks like — it is not intended to be submitted as your own work. You are solely responsible for complying with your school's and the IB's academic honesty policies. AI-generated content may contain factual errors, citation errors, or reasoning mistakes; verify anything you rely on independently.

4. Credits and Payments

Some features consume credits, which you purchase in packs. One credit is consumed per Drafting Room generation or Analyzer analysis; Curriculum Guides, Checklists, and Questions remain free. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our payment processor and merchant of record, who may collect additional information (such as billing details) directly from you subject to their own terms. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates your school's or the IB's policies;
  • Attempt to bypass credit limits, scrape the Service, or interfere with its normal operation;
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit generated content without our permission;
  • Upload content you do not have the right to submit, or content that infringes another person's rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

ScholarLib and its underlying software, design, and branding are our property. You retain ownership of the material you submit to the Service (such as research questions or drafts). We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use content generated for you through the Service for your own educational purposes.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers to function, including Firebase (Google) for accounts and data storage, Anthropic and Google (Gemini) for AI generation, and Dodo Payments for payment processing. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScholarLib is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any academic outcome, grade, or IB result. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, contact us at support@scholarlib.app and we will process the deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a mandatory law of your country of residence provides otherwise.
